Adriana Abadi
I earned a BA from NYU in Psychology with a focus on Child and Adolescent Mental Health. I’m a rising 3rd year doctoral student in Clinical Psychology from George Washington University, where I have provided services at a community mental health clinic, a local bilingual public school, and psychodiagnostic assessments at a DC private practice. I enjoy embroidering clothing. I look forward to being a part of Camp this summer!
Reem AlRabiah (She/her/hers)
I am a fourth year clinical psychology PhD student at George Washington University. My research and clinical work mainly center around anxiety disorders, OCD, and PTSD, and I am especially interested in working with immigrant and displaced communities. Outside of school, I like to hear and share stories, make all kinds of art, and learn new things. I am really excited to meet all the campers this summer!
Zahraa Akhwand
Hi! My name is Zahraa Akhwand, and I am a doctoral student in Clinical Psychology at George Washington University. I have over 5 years of experience working with children and adolescents struggling with anxiety, depression, and social cues deficits. In my free time, I love puzzles, reading, and watching Looney Toons. I look forward to being a part of Confident Kids Camp and I am so excited to get started!

Hi, I’m Phuong! I earned my Master’s in Counseling at University of Pennsylvania and am a Clinical Psychology Doctoral Student at George Washington University. I have provided psychotherapy and assessments for adults and children in hospital, community mental health, and school settings. In my free time, I enjoy writing poetry, doing yoga, and trying new cuisines. I’m excited to get to know everyone at Camp!
Maegan Barber
Hello! My name is Maegan Barber, a rising 4th-year clinical psychology Ph.D. student at Howard University. I earned my Master of Social Work (MSW) from The University of Michigan and my BA from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG). I have experience working to create mental wellness for children, adolescents, and families who have endured trauma, anxiety, and depression. I am thrilled to be a part of the Confident Kids Camp!
Ariel Beckerman
Hi! I’m Ariel, a second-year doctoral student (Psy.D.) at George Washington University. I earned a BA at Indiana University and an MSc at University College London. I have provided psychotherapy and psychological assessments with adults and teens in community mental health and school settings, and I create a warm and open environment to help youth. I enjoy baking, tennis and playing board games with my sisters!
Yasmine Boumaiz
Hello! My name is Yasmine Boumaiz and I recently graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park with a B.S. in Neurobiology and Physiology and a B.S. in Psychology. I am currently a Newcomer and ESOL Math teacher at Patterson High School and I intend to pursue a career in clinical psychology. My current hobbies are painting (acrylic, oil and digital) and I am just starting to learn pottery with air-dry clay! I am thrilled to be involved in Camp and am very excited to meet our campers this summer!

Hi! I’m Nathan and I just finished my first year at the University of Pittsburgh. I am majoring in Psychology. I have also spent a lot of time working with children with learning and physical disabilities. I enjoy spending time with friends, listening to music, and playing ice hockey! I am so excited to meet everyone at camp!
Ashley Byars
Hi! I'm Ashley and a rising senior at University of Alabama studying Psychology and Real Estate. I plan on attending graduate school for Marriage and Family Therapy. At my sorority Delta Gamma, I assisted sisters with emotional regulation, support, resources, weekly stress relieving activities, and mental health education. I enjoy helping kids grow into strong, confident young adults. I am super excited to be at the Confident Kids Camp and can’t wait to meet everyone!

Hi! My name is Margaret Cotter and I am in the psychological science Master’s Program at Catholic University. I have worked at the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline for 3 years and am a research assistant for the Suicide Prevention Lab at CUA. In my free time I enjoy reading, yoga, and gardening. I’m looking forward to camp and meeting everyone!
Xinwei Dong
Xinwei is a licensed professional counselor and a doctoral student in Clinical Psychology. Xinwei specializes in working with children, adolescence, and families who have difficulties regulating emotions and behaviors. Xinwei had worked with children and adolescence struggles with anxiety, depression, and ADHD related symptoms. In my free time, I love to cook, play with my dog, and watch movies. I cannot wait to meet our campers at the Confident Kids Camp and see their growth!
Chenere Evans
Hello! I'm Dr. Chenere Evans, and I completed post-doctoral training at Johns Hopkins/Kennedy Krieger Institute. Currently, at a Health Maintenance Organization/medical setting, I specialize in childhood anxiety, depression, ADHD, autism, and trauma. I enjoy spending time with family and friends, reading, shopping, and traveling. I love to educate, inspire, and guide young minds and I can’t wait to meet you at Camp!
Deetza Franklin
Hi! My name is Deetza Franklin. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with a Masters from Seton Hall University. I worked as a school counselor for a number of years and more recently have transitioned into private practice. I work with children and their families to help develop emotional regulation skills and coping tools. Since 2020, I have been specializing in working with children with SM. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with family and doing photography. I am so excited to get to be part of the team at Confident Kids Camp! Can't wait to meet you!
Breon Gaines
Hi! My name is Breon. I graduated from The George Washington University with a Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I am an LGPC (Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor) at The Ross Center and The Phillips Program. I have experience with children and adolescents who have depression, anxiety, behavioral challenges, and/or are on the Autism Spectrum. Some of my favorite hobbies are: playing tennis, spending time outdoors, and reading. I am excited to get to know everyone at camp!

I’m Nicole, and I graduated from University of Maryland, Baltimore with a masters degree in social work, clinical mental health specialization. I am currently in private practice through Joining with Empathy, where I see patients from diverse backgrounds. In my free time, I love to be with my husband and three young girls. I cannot wait to gain new professional skills as I support campers and their families.

I’m Nisha, and I earned a BA in Psychology at George Mason and a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Chicago School of Professional Psychology. I have worked as a registered behavior technician, school counselor, and a trauma-informed in-home counselor. Currently, I work as a therapist for adults and youth. I enjoy cooking, exercising and decorating. I am devoted to serving youth and am honored to be a part of Camp again!

Hi! My name is Julie. I have a B.A. in Psychology and just finished my first year in the PsyD (Doctor of Psychology) program at Loyola University Maryland. I currently work at Sheppard Pratt in the Child/Adolescent Neuropsychiatric Unit as a Mental Health Worker. Outside of school and work, I love exploring new parts of Baltimore and trying new foods! I am so excited for Confident Kids Camp, and I can’t wait to meet you!

Hi! My name is Zack, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). I am currently working in private practice, but, prior to this, I worked in a variety of settings. I love watching basketball (especially UCONN), tying out new places to eat, and exploring new areas. I am looking forward to meeting everyone and being a part of Camp!
Megan Graves
Megan is a 3rd year Clinical Psychology doctoral student at George Washington University. I earned a B.A in Psychology and Spanish from Elon University, and taught youth in Tenerife, Spain through a Fulbright grant. Megan has worked in bilingual preschools, community mental health clinics, and hospitals, and research involves Autism Spectrum Disorder and ADHD. Megan loves to cycle, camp, travel, and spend time with her dogs and is excited for Camp!

Hi! My name is Hannah. I am a junior studying psychology and human development at the University of Maryland. I have experience working with children from all ages and have also worked in UMD's Family Involvement Lab for multiple semesters. In my free time I love to craft, hike, bake, and volunteer for the Guide Dog Foundation! I am so excited to join this amazing team this summer and meet all of the campers!

Hello! My name is Carla. I am a Freshman Psychology major and Spanish Minor at Loyola Maryland University. I volunteered at a local Community Center while in highschool and I am volunteering at Casa De Marylands Mi Espacio program in the spring. I love listening to music, arts and craft activities, trying new restaurants and exploring. I look forward to camp and getting to interact with the campers and staff!

Hello! I'm Rohma and a rising 4th year student at George Washington University's Professional Psychology Program. I have worked with youth with various concerns, such as ADHD, Learning Disabilities, and anxiety, and in various settings, including outpatient hospitals, community mental health programs, and non-profit organizations. Hi! I'm Gaby and a rising 3rd year, doctoral candidate at The George Washington University Professional Psychology program. I received my BA in Psychology and a minor in Cognitive Science at Georgetown University and am interested in helping children and families achieve developmental and personal goals! I foster safety and trust while helping individuals of diverse backgrounds to process challenges. In my free time I enjoy long walks with my beagle Luna, baking sweets, and dancing. Hi! I'm Sally, a first-year student in the Clinical Psychology PsyD program at George Washington University. I earned my Master's in Art Therapy at the School of Visual Arts and worked as an art therapist. I have provided therapy and offered evidence-based treatments for children facing behavioral and emotional challenges. I enjoy art, hiking, and playing with my cat. I'm very excited to meet all the campers!
Haley Jones
Hi! My name is Haley and I am a current graduate student at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology - Washington DC campus going into my final year before internship! My professional areas of interest include working with those who have severe psychosis as well as working with children. In my free time, I enjoy baking, musical theater, and anything which allows me to be creative. I am so excited to meet this year's campers and help them find their voices and learn to be brave!

Hi! I’m Cara, a first-year student in the Clinical Psychology doctoral program at George Washington University. I obtained a BA in Psychology/Linguistics at University of Pittsburgh and worked as a Psychiatric Technician, providing group and other services to diverse adults and teens. Hi y'all, my name is Serene Kaggal. I am a doctoral student in Clinical Psychology at George Washington University. I earned a BS in Psychology at Lamar University in Beaumont, TX, and have had the privilege of providing psychological assessments with older adults and teens in a private practice setting. I enjoy running, singing Bollywood/Indian songs, and spending time with my family and friends. I am excited to help the campers at Confident Kids Camp!

Hi! My name is Kayla, and I am entering my first year as a Master's student at the University of Maryland, College Park. I am currently a lab coordinator for the Comprehensive Assessment and Intervention Program Lab at UMD, and I hope to ultimately earn my PhD in Clinical Psychology. I love sports, and in the evenings, I work as a referee for an adult volleyball league! I am super excited to join the team and get to create lasting memories with the campers this summer!
Braden Kiang
Hi! My name is Braden Kiang and I am a senior at the Washington International School. I am studying psychology, as well as biology and geography, in the higher level of the international baccalaureate program. I founded the Mental Health club at my school as well as a service opportunity to mentor elementary students on fundamental and simple mental health concepts. I enjoy listening to music, swimming, and exploring DC! I am super excited to be able to work and grow with all the campers this summer!

I am a rising senior at Scripps College in Southern California where I am studying psychology and minoring in Spanish. I hope to engage in research and clinical work with children and adolescents with internalizing disorders. During my free time, I love to spend time outdoors (especially with dogs!), explore bookstores, and play pickleball. I am thrilled to return for camp for a 2nd year and cannot wait to meet everyone!

Hi! I am Kiara, a second year Clinical Psychology doctoral student (Psy.D) at George Washington University. I received my B.A in Psychology at the University of Virginia, where I spent three years working with children ages 2-6 in the Early Development Lab. I have significant experience working with children of all ages as a babysitter, camp counselor, research assistant, and clinician. In my free time I enjoy yoga, dance, reading, and discovering new restaurants. I am thrilled to be a part of the team for Camp this summer!

Hi! My name is Sasha and I am an undergraduate student at the University of Maryland. I am currently studying psychology and am planning on going to medical school to become a psychiatrist. I enjoy meeting new people and exercising. I am super excited to meet everyone at Camp and to obtain new experiences.
Veronica Latorre
Hi! My name is Veronica Latorre. I graduated from UMBC with a BA in Psychology and Sociology. I am currently an RBT at Applied ABC in Maryland, and have volunteered for the Boy Scouts of America as a den mother for my son's den from grades 1-5. I enjoyed planning activities for the scouts to acquire their badges. In my spare time, I Latin dance, read, and travel. I am excited to help the campers at Confident Kids Camp again!

Hi there! I am a second-year doctoral student in Clinical Psychology at The George Washington University. At Tulane University, my undergraduate coursework focused on childhood development and family dynamics. I have worked with youth at their most vulnerable stages supporting their growth through challenges. I love hikes, tennis, reading, and my puppy. I can’t wait to meet everyone at Confident Kids Camp!
Yi Liu
Hi! I am Yi, a doctoral student (Psy.D) at George Washington University who earned a master's in Counseling Psychology at Columbia University, and am a certified play therapist and licensed counselor in China. I have worked with youth with social anxiety, selective mutism, depression, ADHD, bullying, and domestic violence. I enjoy dancing, and playing drums, piano, and badminton. I am excited to share this fantastic journey with you!
Randi Loeb
Hello! I’m Randi Loeb, M.S. CCC SLP. I am a Speech-Language Pathologist and co-director of Children’s Speech and Language Services in Lexington, MA (near Boston). At my private practice, I specialize in social communication which, along with play and humor, provides the foundation for my approach in treating kids coping with SM. I began my training in SM 8 years ago and having thoroughly enjoyed this population, it is now my focus. In my free time, I love to travel, be outside with my Golden Retrievers and spend time with my family. I’m ‘wicked’ excited to be joining CKC-DC this summer!

Hello! My name is Katie, and I received my B.A. from Union College in 2015. After working in the legal industry for several years, I transitioned to the mental health field and am now a second-year clinical psychology doctoral student at George Washington University. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my golden retriever pup, musical theatre, and trying new cuisine. I am thrilled for the opportunity to get to know you at camp!

Michelle Morel
Hello! My name is Michelle Morel. I have a Bachelors degree in Psychology, a Master's degree in Couples, Marriage & Family Counseling, and am pursuing a Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology at GW. I aim to serve those who are facing psychological dilemmas. I treated a child diagnosed with SM and this sparked my joy for helping these bright and intelligent children become more comfortable. When I’m not working, I love to be creative: baking, reading, playing games, and having fun! I’m so looking forward to this camp, seeing the growth of these children, and gaining the learning and lasting effects I will receive as a lucky counselor!

Hello! I’m Joanna, a first-year master student at the University of Maryland. I am currently a research assistant in the Clinical and Cognitive Neuroscience Lab and Comprehensive Assessment and Intervention Program Lab. I also am an assistant in children group therapy with the Resiliency Builder Program. In my free time I enjoy going on walks with my dog Sunny, attempting home projects, reading, working out, and gardening. I’m so excited to be part of Confident Kids Camp, not only to learn, but to meet and help all the campers!

Hello! I’m Emma, a rising 3rd year doctoral student in Professional Psychology at GWU. My BA is from Gettysburg College in Psychology and Studio Art. I provide therapy in various settings with interests in identity development with neurodivergent, LGBTQ+ populations, and intersecting identities. I love being outdoors, painting, and my loved ones. Hello! My name is Airyn and I received my B.S. from the United States Military Academy in 2018. I served in the Army for four years before transitioning to graduate school. I am currently working on my doctoral degree in clinical psychology at the Uniformed Services University. I love to work with kids. I volunteer as a coach for Girls on the Run and a Sunday School teacher. I am excited to have an opportunity to share this journey with you at Confident Kids Camp!

I’m Sophia, a sophomore at University of Pennsylvania studying Psychology and Urban Education, and am currently working on a research team in Penn's Graduate School of Education exploring the effects of caregiver cognitive stimulation in early childhood. I have experience in providing psychotherapy with adolescents and emerging adults, as well as administering neuropsychological assessments. Hi! My name is Rylie. I'm a rising Junior at the Catholic University of America, double-majoring in psychology and political science. I am the leader of several local political organizations, and I work as a nanny and tutor for kids ages 3-13 in the community. Off duty, you can find me unwinding with yoga or painting with friends. I am thrilled to volunteer at Confident Kids Camp for the first time this summer!

Hi, my name is Dinobi and I am a clinical psychology doctoral student at George Washington University with interests in children/ adolescents, women, and African populations. I enjoy creating and consuming art in most forms, especially poetry and painting. I am looking forward to meeting all the kids and volunteering at Camp this season!

Hello! I'm Jung In and I graduated from Occidental College in 2020 with a BA in Psychology. I am currently a 2nd year student in the George Washington University Clinical Psychology Doctoral Program (Psy.D) and have experience working with people of all ages in psychotherapy and psychological testing through community mental health setting. In my free time I enjoy listening to music, reading, visiting art museums and visiting coffee shops!

Hi! My name is Diana, I’m a rising second year Clinical Psychology doctoral (Psy.D.) student at George Washington University. I earned a B.S. in biology and a minor in psychology from Penn State University. I have experience working as a camp counselor, and providing psychological assessments. Hi! My name is Armahn Rassuli and I received my B.S. from Virginia Tech in Psychology in 2017. In 2020, I received my Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and I am now a rising third year doctoral student in Clinical Psychology at George Washington University. Ashley Rosenfield
Ashley Rosenfield is a licensed professional counselor who works both in private practice and as the Counselor at Milton Gottesman Jewish Day School in Washington DC. Ashley received a Masters from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology in DC in 2016 and has been supporting children and adolescents ever since. Helping others is truly a passion and Ashley is so excited to join camp this summer! Outside of work, other passions include cooking, traveling,yoga and spending time with her family, friends and dog Vinny!
Ryan Smout
Ryan Smout is a third year student in the Clinical Psychology PhD program at American University, and earned a Master’s Degree in Psychology from Wake Forest University. Prior to graduate school, he worked for 6 years in community-based mental healthcare with teenagers and adults, focusing on symptom management and independent living skills. Ryan has a range of hobbies including playing music (French horn, piano, singing), sports (tennis, disc golf), and games of all types (board, card, and video). He’s thrilled to be joining CKC for summer 2021!

Emily Stephen is a rising third year Clinical Psychology doctoral student in The George Washington University Psy.D program. She received a Bachelors degree from the University of Virginia and a Masters in Counseling Psychology/Mental Health Counseling from Teachers College, Columbia University. Emily has worked in college counseling, community mental health, and school settings. Emily enjoys spending time outdoors, having fun with a pet dog, Poppy, reading, and watching TV/movies. Hi! My name is Rida! I am an undergraduate student in my junior year majoring in psychology at UMBC. I intend to apply to medical school, specializing in psychiatry. I like to spend my leisure time creatively and trying new things. I love being involved in programs where I can help. Having the opportunity to work with an organization like Rockville Therapy center would be an honor and the highlight of my year.
Waldo Tejada
Hey, I'm Waldo, recently repatriated back to America from South Korea, where I taught English grammar, reading proficiency, math, chemistry, biology, and Spanish. I have completed a Post-Baccalaureate Program for Counseling and Psychology at UC Berkeley Extension, with a focus on Adolescent psychology. I read sci-fi/fantasy, nonfiction, and comic books, spend time with nieces and nephews and my shih tzu Vera, and train in calisthenics, acrobatics, and muay thai. I am very eager to work as a team to make a difference in campers' lives!

Hello campers! I am Arriel Walker and I am beyond excited to meet everyone and be a part of this process. I am a Professional Counselor with a Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I work with adolescents, children, and families for the past three years. I thoroughly enjoy seeing families take away tools that can benefit them for a lifetime. I enjoy laughter, movies, and I tend to spend time with my loved ones chuckling at 90's movies like The Nutty Professor. I look forward to meeting everyone. I currently work as a research assistant for the UMD ADHD Lab and am also a peer counselor for my university's crisis intervention hotline. I have worked with youth and expectant and new mothers as a psychological counselor in China. I enjoy visiting art museums, watching theater, and playing tennis. I am excited to meet everyone at Confident Kids Camp!
Takira Ward
Hi! I am Takira, a graduate of George Mason University, where I earned a B.A. in developmental and clinical psychology. I am currently a research assistant at George Mason University and a crisis counselor. In my free time, I enjoy trying new recipes and cooking dishes from all over the globe, and learning new languages. I am so excited to meet this year’s campers and can’t wait to witness all of the growth and progress!

Hi, I'm Rachel! In 2022, I earned an MPS in Clinical Psychological Science from The University of Maryland, College Park. Now, I am a licensed psychology associate working at a neuropsychology practice where I specialize in evaluating children. In my spare time, I enjoy hiking, reading, and creating art. I look forward to joining camp this summer!
Louise Weidner
I am a rising senior at American University in the Honors Psychology program. I work in the Interpersonal Emotion Laboratory on campus and am also an Intern at DC Health Psychology. My interest in psychology includes child and adolescent development and treatment methods for anxiety disorders. In my free time I foster pitbulls and run in my school's club cross country team. I am very excited to work with children at camp this summer.
Ashley Winch
Hi! Ashley Winch here, I am a fifth year Ph.D. student at the University of Central Florida. I currently split my clinical time between the Behavioral Health department at Nemours Children's Hospital, and UCF RESTORES, a mental health research clinic for military and first responders. When I am not performing assessments, or conducting intake screeners, I am helping with community mental health trainings for first responders across the state of Florida. Outside of work, you can find me surfing or competing in a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu tournament. I look forward to lots of laughs and fun at camp this summer!
Eason Weinmann
I graduated from William and Mary in Classical Studies and Psychology, earned a Master's of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Johns Hopkins, and will start a PsyD program at La Salle. I am interested in working with kids with OCD, phobias, tic disorders, Selective Mutism, and other anxiety disorders. I’ve worked with a teen with SM at WeSpeak. I love traveling, running, cooking, reading, watching TV and movies. I'm excited to help kiddos gain confidence at Confident Kids Camp!!
Molly Wollner (She/her/hers)
Hi! I'm Molly, and I am so excited to be working with camp this summer! I am a rising senior at the Charles E. Smith Jewish Day School, where I have just completed a course in Advanced Psychology. Working with children is one of my passions, and I have spent the last two summers as a camp counselor in the area. My hobbies are singing and dancing, and I am involved in various performance groups at my school. I can't wait to get to know you!
Feng Xing
My name is Feng Xing and you can also call me Dylan. I am an international student pursuing my doctoral degree in professional psychology at George Washington University. I obtained my BA in Psychology in 2018 at Temple University then I graduated from Johns Hopkins University with a master's degree in Counseling. I love music, movies, animals, plants, and video games. I am excited to meet with families coming for the confident camp and get to know their interests as well!
Ananya Yadav
Hi! My name is Ananya and I am a rising 2nd year in the Clinical Psychology doctoral program at The George Washington University. I received my master's in Psychology from The University of Edinburgh in the UK, and have worked with individuals throughout the lifespan in the United Arab Emirates. My work with youth includes issues concerning grief, social skills, attachment, neurodevelopment, and developmental delays. I love to run, hike, swim and experimenting with new recipes. I am so excited to be part of the camp, meet all the Confident Kids!

Hi! My name is Megan. I am currently a rising third year doctoral student in clinical psychology at The Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences. I have worked as an alcohol and drug counselor and mental health technician in the Air Force since 2013. I really enjoy working with children, and I look forward to Confident Kids Camp this summer.
