Speaking Engagements and Training Programs
Speaking Engagements
We frequently present at schools, clinics, and conferences on evidence based care. Common topics include selective mutism, school refusal, and parenting and teaching youth with anxiety.
Clinical Consultations
Wonderful providers in the community often reach out to request consultation regarding selective mutism, school refusal, CBT and exposure-based therapies, and clinical program development.
School Refusal Training Institute (SRTI) – 8 CE credits Now Available
The School Refusal Training Institute (SRTI) is an 8-session training series for mental health and school providers of youth who refuse school. Attendees participate in 8 sessions held monthly throughout the school year. See flyer for the Fall 2022 session. Maryland Psychologist, social workers and professional counselors can all receive CE credits for their license renewal. Those from other states will have to check with their licensing board.

Student Training Opportunities
We offer training opportunities that can be customized to students throughout their academic career from high school through graduate school. Opportunities may include clinical interactions appropriate to training level (such as phone screenings, clinical intakes, serving as a social practice partner during certain exposure therapy sessions), attendance at team consultation meetings, clinical trainings on a variety of topics, community outreach, leading workshops, and receiving mentorship on clinical career development. We offer direct, supervised behavioral training and therapy experience with children with selective mutism through our intensive, behavioral intervention program, Confident Kids Camp DC.
